The LCJRU tour to New Zealand for the U14 team represents a first for the Lane Cove Club. It represents the opportunity for the boys to experience the uniqueness of a team based activity that crosses national boundaries and goes beyond the teaming that has occurred on a week to week basis over the last several seasons as they have “grown up” with a Lane Cove Rugby team that has been a part of their childhood. We hope that it will help them form lifelong friendships, and be an experience that is a fun memory of their formative years.
Already they have all had to contribute to the goal of getting on tour through the Jobs program and the various fundraising activities they have been involved with. Now they will get to experience the reward of those efforts.
When the organising committee took on this initiative, we said that key to the success of the venture would be the support of all parents in the myriad of voluntary and fundraising activities, and we would like to thank everyone for their enormous support over the last six months in achieving our fundraising goals and being ready for the Tour itself.
